Lori Terry Hometown Realty is open for business in Valley. The real estate company is located in Suite B of the Merritt Building at 4002 20th Avenue.

The Greater Valley Area Chamber of Commerce celebrated Terry, a GVACC ambassador, with a ribbon-cutting ceremony on Thursday morning. Terry and her associates will serve Chambers and the surrounding Alabama and Georgia counties.

When addressing the large crowd outside of the new location, the realtor explained the services Lori Terry Hometown Realty will offer.

“We specialize in single-family homes. We deal with new construction… we deal with local builders throughout the area,” Terry said. “We do resales, we have investment properties, we do foreclosures, we do land, commercial [real estate]. You name it, we will sell.”

Valley mayor Leonard Riley highlighted the growth of the real estate market in the city and county. Multiple subdivisions are under construction in Valley alone. Terry has been involved in guiding some of the builders of the new developments.

“We’re excited about all the new development that there’s coming….We’re having people come in the community, and they got to have a place to live,” she said. “So we want them to have good homes, and we want to sell them.”

The broker has been in real estate for almost 18 years, working at a large firm. Last October, Terry said she decided to, “take a leap of faith,” and open her own business.

“I did feel like too, doing this, I could give back to my community, that I could keep the business here and serve the people, and keep the business on a local level,” Terry explained.

The ‘Hometown’ in the name was an important inclusion for Terry.

“This is their home. We love this area. We want nothing but good things in this area,” she said. “Our mission statement is, ‘we’re dedicated to providing the highest quality real estate services to our community and beyond’.”

She added that being from the area benefits her clients.

“I know this area like the back of my hand. I grew up here, lived here my whole life…My network in here, these are my friends and my family that I’m helping,” Terry said
