The Chambers County School District announced that Schools will remain closed on Thursday, Jan. 23.

In a statement, the district said, “We have been in contact with Chambers County EMA this morning concerning expected conditions for tomorrow. Chambers County Schools will be closed tomorrow for students and staff. No new work will be assigned. We plan to resume normal school operations on Friday.”

Lanett City Schools will also close on Thursday.

“Safety is a top priority at Lanett City Schools. In response to inclement winter weather conditions, Lanett City Schools will be closed on Thursday, January 23, 2025,” stated Jennifer Boyd, LCS Superintendent, and Clifford Story, Safety Coordinator.

Lee County Schools have also canceled for Thursday and expect to issue a two-hour delay to the start of school on Friday, Jan. 24.
