Valley High looks a little different this semester. Wendy Robinson, the Senior Vice Principal has assumed principal duties while the district searches for someone to fill the role permanently.
Troy Kelley, the former VHS principal, started in August and put in his letter of resignation in December. The reason for his resignation was not disclosed at this time, and happened before the new superintendent, Dr. Sharon Weldon, came into office in January.
Weldon said that her top priority during her first days in office is finding a principal for Valley. The applications for the position close today and the board will begin looking at candidates.
“The weather may play into this, you know, but our plan is to move,” Weldon said. “We would love the opportunity to say that by February 1 we had somebody in place.”
