On January 25 th, 2025, at approximately 1:55 PM, the Chambers County 911 Center received a 911 call in reference to a four-month-old infant having a seizure at a residence in the Old Jackson Heights Housing Project in Lanett, AL.

The East Alabama Fire Department was contacted for mutual aid and transported the black male infant to East Alabama Medical Center (EAMC). The child’s condition was assessed by the medical staff at EAMC and then flown to the Children’s of Alabama Hospital (COA)l in Birmingham. Alabama.

On January 29 th, 2025, at approximately 3:06 PM, the infant was declared deceased at COA. The body of the infant has been transported to the Alabama Department of Forensic Science Medical Lab in Montgomery, Alabama, for autopsy.

The circumstances of the child’s death are under investigation by the Lanett Police Department.
