OPELIKA — Mr. Willie James Green, 50, of Opelika died Sunday, Feb. 17, 2019, at Piedmont Columbus Regional Medical Center, Columbus. Funeral services will be held at Vines Funeral Home Chapel, LaFayette, on Thursday, Feb. 21, 2019 at 1 p.m. (CST) with Rev. Greg Sutton officiating. Interment will be in Handy cemetery, LaFayette. The remains will lie in state at the chapel from 12 noon  until the funeral hour. Public viewing will be at Vines Funeral Home, Wednesday, Feb. 20, 2019 from noon till 6 p.m. (CST).

Mr. Green is survived by his mother, Jessie Mary Sutton, LaFayette; a devoted friend of 28 years, Lynn Giles of Opelika; two brothers, Jerry Sutton, LaFayette and Rickey (Sharon) Cooks, Huntsville; a sister, Mamie L. Sutton, Camp Hill; two aunts, Betty Lou Haynes, LaFayette and Sarah Francis Cooks, Sylacauga; a good friend, Dennie Mae Brooks, LaFayette, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
