MRs. Dorothy Ann Cotton

WEST POINT — Dorothy Ann Cotton, 80, of West Point passed away on Saturday, Feb. 23, 2019, at West Georgia Hospice in LaGrange. Ann was born on Feb. 12, 1939, to the late James and Dorothy Andrews in Hogansville Georgia.

The family greeted friends on Monday, Feb.  25, 2019, at 3 p.m. EST at Reed’s Chapel Baptist Church, West Point. Funeral services followed at 4 p.m. EST at Reed’s Chapel Baptist Church. Interment followed in Marseille Cemetery in West Point.

Ann is survived by her sons, Al (Betty Jean) Cotton and Mossy (Sherry) Cotton, both of Lanett; grandchildren Amy (Jody) Walker of Lanett, Jason (Crystal) Cotton of Valley and Jonathan Cotton of Athens, Georgia; great grandchildren Hunter Stanfield and Brayden Walker, both of Lanett, Cameron Cotton and  Chloe Cotton, both of Valley;  niece Cynthia (Gary) Tibbs of Marietta, Georgia, brother-in-law Tommy Cunningham of Roanoke; cousins Debbie Staley and family of Hogansville, Lynn McClure and family of Cumming, Georgia, Buster Courtney and family of Hogansville, Ann Denney and family of Jonesboro, Georgia, Joyce Andrews of LaGrange; extended family members Kitty Dopp and family of Hogansville, Johnny, Shannon and Charlee Maggart of West Point, and many more family and friends.

Ann was preceded in death by her husband, George Calvin Cotton of West Point, and sister, Jean Cunningham of Roanoke.

Ann retired from WestPoint Pepperell’s Lanett Mill after many years of service. She was a dedicated member of Reed’s Chapel Baptist Church in West Point. Ann enjoyed watching Atlanta Braves baseball, the Georgia Bulldogs and spending time with her grandchildren.

Ann had numerous friends and enjoyed spending time with them and helping others. She will be greatly missed by all.
