Hello Huguley folks, friends and foe alike!  Wow! Did you guys enjoy the snowy days and nights last week? We did. We stayed inside the house from Tuesday evening until Thursday mid-morning.

It was so very pretty, but very dangerous, to folks who might not be as surefooted as they used to be. We stayed on the carport or inside the house except to make a couple of runs to get a tad of firewood. I drove the car from the carport to the front of the house and made a few pictures and quickly drove back into the carport.

No snow angels, no snowman, no snowball fights… oh well, the life of the senior adults that live at our house!

I know most folks stayed close to home, but, as I watched our security monitors over the last few days, I saw traffic up and down our streets the entire three days we were cloistered inside. I sure hope they were all safe and made it wherever they were headed.

I certainly hope that while the schools have been closed that the germ that was passing along the flu has had time to die out. It would be really rough to come down with the flu after being cooped up for a few days due to the weather.

I am sticking this in here since I had no other news. It is actually Fairfax news, and I am glad to share it. I will stick any other news in the Fairfax news, but, I wanted to get this is as soon as I found it.

It had gotten into a junk folder and I had just overlooked it until the last day or two. Please forgive me Fairfax friends, I promise to do better. I just wanted to get this I as soon as I found it.

Fairfax First Baptist started December with good tidings.  On Dec. 4, we celebrated with our senior adults and church members.  I like to call the “younger seniors” the semi seniors.  We were able to prepare a fantastic meal and decorate the fellowship hall with live greenery, white and red accessories.  Deborah Combs, Tamara Johnston and Sherry Davis made sure everything was to perfection.  The food was traditional Christmas dinner.   Oh my, we have awesome cooks at Fairfax First Baptist and the best dishwasher you could ask for, Judi Murphy.

Everything we do is a team effort, and it is always good. Joining us was John Emfinger, Clayton Davis, Levi Cole, Sonny & Judi Murphy, Terrell & Faye Daniels, Sammy & Diane Osborne, Lanny Bledsoe, Brother Keith & Rhonda Gambill, David & Janna Cole, Chad & Sherry Davis, Cliff & Nellie Lynn, John Rayburn, Janis Sikes, Mrs. Edna Deloach, Mrs. Doris Garnett, Shannon and Debbie Chandler, Debra Irvin, Mrs. Penny Crowder, Marsha K Askew, Mike & Tamara Johnston, Gail Blackstone, Randy Ferguson, Linda Ferguson, Judy Craven, Deborah Combs, John David, Kali and Hank Kobeck.

We even got a game in there and everyone got a gift or two.  Janna Cole is our Artist and she painted wooden door hangers and art sketches for door prizes.  Janna has an awesome talent from God and she uses it well. We also brought exchange gifts. Unfortunately, we had several that could not attend due to sickness and being in assisted living.

That doesn’t stop us, Tamara Johnston is our food delivery lady.  If you can’t join us, we will get it to you. Brother Keith Gambill led us in prayer.  We are thankful for Brother Keith and his wife Rhonda.  They have only been with us a few months, but Brother Keith is a great pastor/teacher and we are all learning so much.  We also have a new Minister of Music and Youth, Jalen Smith. As we enter into 2018 FFBC is committed to:  Exalting the Savior, Engaging the Saints, Equipping the Servants and Evangelizing the Sinners.

Well, I am closing out. I sure wish I could hear how things are going in your neck of the woods. I miss hearing from you guys!
