Times-News to be weekend delivered beginning in February

Beginning in February, the Valley Times-News will be delivered to all home subscribers daily from Tuesday through Saturday. This will add a weekend edition newspaper while the production of a Monday newspaper will be discontinued.
“Adding a weekend edition newspaper will help us include more timely, relevant and important information to our subscribers from Friday and Friday night,” Publisher Baker Ellis said. “This time frame is often the busiest period of the week, and the chance to include this portion of news in a print product to our subscribers quickly will be a positive move. As an example, we will be able to include Friday night sports coverage in a Saturday newspaper as opposed to Monday.”
With the addition of a Saturday newspaper, the Monday newspaper will be discontinued after the January 29 edition.
“The Valley Times-News has always been a five-day daily newspaper,” Ellis said. “We feel it best to leave this as-is.”
Single copy newspapers will be available for purchase at all current locations Tuesday – Saturday for 50 cents. The newspaper will also continue to be delivered on an afternoon schedule.
