LANETT — Mrs. Angela Jean Tucker, 63, of Lanett, Ala. passed away Friday, January 19, 2018 at EAMC-Lanier Hospital in Valley, Ala.
Mrs. Tucker was born September 18, 1954 in Chambers County, Ala. to the parentage of the late Lucious Pitts and Rosie L. Wright.
Angela was an active and faithful member of the Ebenezer Baptist Church for over fifty years. She received her education in the Lanett City School System, where she was a member of the 1972 graduating class of Lanett High School. “Jean,” as she was affectionately known, was a former employee of Johnson Controls.
Jean enjoyed cooking, gardening, and participating in church activities. She most of all enjoyed being the backbone of her loving family. She was loved and admired by whoever crossed her path.
She was preceded in death by an aunt and uncle whom she cherished dearly, Johnnie Lou and Johnny Stiggers.
She leaves to cherish her precious memories a devoted husband, Robert Tucker; her only daughter, Angel Finley; four sons, Cheko (Ashley) Cheeks, Takio (Tisha) Cheeks, Teo (Lucy) Cheeks and Marco (Sheila) Cheeks, and her mother, Rosie L. Wright, all of Lanett.
Angela was the oldest of eleven siblings that she loved dearly. She was an amazing grandmother to all of her grandkids and great grandkids; she would always say “#Lovemybabies.”
Jean was loved and had a major, positive impact on a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
