Mr. Amos “AD” Spidell — 1930-2019

LANETT — Mr. Amos “AD” Spidell, 89, of Lanett, passed away on June 17 at Diversicare of Lanett. 

The Celebration of Life Service will be June 25, at 11 a.m. at Ebenezer Baptist Church, 1006 N. 10th Avenue, Lanett with Dr. Jessie Walker, Officiating and Pastor. Burial will follow in the Pine Hill Cemetery in Lanett. The body will lie in state one hour prior to the service. A visitation will be held on June 24 from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. at the funeral home. 

He was born on June 17, 1930, in Camp Hill, to the late Charlie Spidell and Willie Mae Jones. Early in his life, he joined the Ebenezer Baptist Church under the leadership of the late Pastor Eugene Cooks. 

He leaves to cherish his loving memories: four sons, Cecil (Laleatha Potts) Murry, Amos (Daphne) Bledsoe, Jeremiah (Eureka) Bledsoe and Cedric (Vanessa) Bledsoe; fifteen grandchildren; two brothers, James Spidell and Ulysses Huguley; four sisters, Janice Spidell, Sharon (Oscar) Johnson, Flora Huguley and Elaine Boyd Hughley and a host of other relatives and friends.
