Mr. Bill Martin, Jr., 56, of LaFayette, passed away on June 18 at East Alabama Medical Center in Opelika.

Funeral Services was held on June 24 at 1 p.m. CDT at Friendship Baptist Church No. 1 in LaFayette, the Rev. Cornelius Reese, Jr., Pastor; Officiating. Burial will follow in Handy Memorial Cemetery in LaFayette. 

Martin is survived by his wife, Paula Walker Martin, of New York, New York; six sons, Bill (Rodeshia) Martin Jr., of Virginia, Kenny Martin, of Brooklyn, New York, Kenton Mitchell, of Connecticut, Shaundell (Tempesst) Martin, of Opelika, Shaundell Martin and Shamari Martin, of LaFayette;  two daughters, Shinea Johnson, of North Carolina and Shania Martin, of Opelika; four brothers, Kenny Martin, Tommy Martin, of LaFayette, Doug (Barbara) Martin, of Opelika, and Luis Curtis Martin, of South Carolina; five sisters, Cyble Hughley, of LaFayette, Patricia Martin and Virginia Crim of Opelika, Barbara Martin Walker, of Manhattan, New York and Mary Alice George, of Staten Island, New York; nine grandkids that he loved dearly; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
