Mrs. Nancy French — 1949-2019

Mrs. Nancy French, 70, of Lanett, passed away on July 7 at her residence.
French was born in West Point on March 29, 1949, to the late Esco A. Lenoir, Jr. and the late Mattie Pike Lenoir. She was also preceded in death by her sister, Donna McMillan and a brother, Sonny Lenoir.
French retired from the West Point Stevens Company as a supervisor with over 40 years of service. She was a member of West Side Baptist Church in Lanett. French was a very faithful lady who prayed and read her Bible each day. She loved her church and her church family.
One of her favorite pastimes was found in reading. She was an anchor to her family and loved her family and her grandchildren, who affectionately called her
“Nana.”
She is survived by her children, Shandi Moncus and Brandon Godfrey; special niece, Jaime King; siblings, Linda Webb, Debbye Lenoir, Robin Lenoir; six grandchildren; two great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held on July 11 at 11 a.m. EDT at the Johnson Brown-Service Funeral Home chapel in Valley with interment following in the Fredonia United Methodist Church Cemetery. The Rev. Terry Hill officiating. Her family will be receiving friends at the funeral home Thursday morning from 10 a.m. EDT until 11 a.m. EDT.
