Mr. Johnny Carmichael — 1952-2019

Deputy Johnny Carmichael, 66, of Valley, passed away on Tuesday, Aug. 6, 2019, at his son’s residence in Valley. He was born on Aug. 27, 1952, in Langdale.
Deputy Carmichael is survived by his wife of 47 years, Deborah Carmichael; his son, John H. Carmichael III; his grandchildren, Shalee Hinkle, John H. Carmichael, IV, and William Stryker Zane Carmichael; his mother, Edith Carmichael; his siblings, Bill Carmichael, Robert Carmichael, Rhonda Hill, and Jim Carmichael; his mother and father in law, Eloise and Thomas Moore.
He was preceded in death by his daughter, Brandy Thornton and his father, John H. Carmichael Sr.
Deputy Carmichael served as a deputy for the Chambers County Sheriff’s Office for more than 30 years. He lived for and loved his grandchildren more than anything in the world.
Funeral services will be held on Sunday, Aug. 11, 2019, at 3 p.m. EST at the Johnson Brown-Service Funeral Home Chapel in Valley. Interment will follow in Oakwood Cemetery. The Reverend Thomas Moore and the Reverend Loren Sutton will officiate. The family will receive friends Saturday evening from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. at the Johnson Brown-Service Funeral Home in Valley.
