Mrs. Louise Bollinger Smith — 1934-2019

Mrs. Louise Bollinger Smith, 85, of Valley, passed away on Aug. 25 at the Hospice of Northeast Georgia in Braselton, Georgia. She was born Aug. 2, 1934, in Macon, Georgia, the daughter of the late John William Bollinger, Sr. and Mary Worsham Bollinger. Mrs. Smith was also preceded in death by her husband, Noah Charles Smith; sister, Rosalind Bollinger; and brothers, J.W. Bollinger, Jr. and Charles Bollinger. She is survived by her son, Charles Smith (Suzanne); and daughters, Rosalyn Wright (Greg) and Gina Jackson; seven grandchildren, Jonathan Jackson (Elizabeth), Jessica Wright Pierson (Andy), Jason Wright, Hannah Smith McDaniel, Joel Jackson, Josh Jackson and Julie Jackson; and three great-grandchildren, Micah McDaniel, Noah Jackson and Annaliese Jackson.

Louise worked many years as a phlebotomist at Lanier Hospital in Valley. She was also actively involved on the Valley Tree Board, where she led the effort to line Fob James Drive with crape myrtles. Until her health deteriorated, Louise was also actively involved at Shawmut First Baptist Church. She loved gardening and floral arranging. Most of all, she loved serving God.

Funeral services will be held on Aug. 28 at 11 a.m. EDT from Johnson Brown-Service Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow at Langdale Cemetery. Visitation was on Tuesday from 6:30 – 8 p.m. EDT at the funeral home.
