COLUMBIANA — The Springwood Wildcats took care of business on the road in a 35-20 victory over Cornerstone on Friday night.
Senior Chalyb Lenker led the team with 12 tackles, while senior Louis Morrison grabbed an interception as well in the effort.
“[The] defense played well throughout,” Springwood head football coach John Gartman said. “We gave up a couple of touchdowns late with our young guys in the game.”
Offensively, junior full back O.J. Tolbert led the team with 176 rushing yards, while senior quarterback Jordan Plank finished with 83 yards on the ground.
“The offense was inconsistent in the first half, but played well in the second half,” Gartman said.
Springwood returns to action next Friday at Lowndes, before heading to Edgweood Academy on Sept. 13.
