LaGRANGE, Ga. — Mr. Mathias Moreland Jr., a resident of LaGrange, Ga. and formerly a resident of Valley, Ala., died Sunday, January 28, 2018 at Grady Hospital, Atlanta, Ga.

Funeral Services are scheduled for Saturday, February 3, 2018 at 3:30 p.m. EST from Mt. Hermon Baptist Church in Lanett, Ala. Dr. Lamar Johnson, astor/officiant and Rev. Eddie Reece III, eulogist, will officiate. Interment will follow in Pine Hill Cemetery in Lanett. Davis Memorial Mortuary of Valley is directing.

Public viewing is scheduled for Friday, February 2, 2018 from 1 p.m. until 7 p.m. EST at Davis Memorial Mortuary.

His survivors include his loving wife, Keinyatta Cochran, LaGrange, Ga.; three children, Makhila Cochran, Za’Kevian Moreland and Kentaevion Moreland, all of LaGrange, Ga.; mother, Betty (Charles) Dooley, Valley; father, Mathias (Laceta) Moreland, Sr., Atlanta, Ga.; grandmother, Glinda Barnes Slaton, Valley; nine brothers, Jarod Moreland, Dantavious Davidson, Dimitri Henry and Clifford McClure, Jr. all of Lanett; Ralphael Dyer, LaGrange; Deondra Moreland, Antwon Moreland and Martize Moreland, all of Atlanta; and Toi’Kevoius Owens, Valley; five sisters, Kendra Moreland and Tiara Henry. both of Lanett; Jameka Wynn and Veronica Moreland, both of Atlanta; and Charnesia Buckner, West Point, Ga.; a special uncle, Clarence Barnes, Valley; his mother-in-law, Minnie (Jemele) Roberts; father-in-law, Spencer (Neressa) Jackson; a special cousin, Kizzie Washington; one sister-in-law; two brothers-in-law; god parents Clifford and Laneek McClure, Sr.; a devoted friend who was like a brother, Draco Phillips; a special friend, Rod Terry, and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
