The new year has come and gone, but as 2018 is still very much in its infancy, the resolution spirit that accompanies January is still alive and well. With a new year comes fresh starts, new beginnings, and a chance to implement change.

Less than one week from today, the Valley Times-News will unveil change in the form of a completely new design. The newspaper will look overwhelmingly different than it does today. The front-page flag, headline and body fonts, editorial page, sports pages and interior content will be presented in an updated, clean, engaging fashion.

Over the course of the last four months, multiple changes have come to the Valley Times-News. Our coverage of local events has increased exponentially, thanks to the work of our dedicated reporting staff. The newspaper’s digital presence is becoming more enhanced, our daily print packages are more dynamic and comprehensive than ever before and we are launching a partnership with the US Postal Service, to name a few. There is much more work to be done, but we have taken positive steps toward our overall goal of delivering a top-notch daily newspaper that the community can be proud of.

A top-down redesign of this magnitude is in line with this overall objective, benefitting all who consume community news in Chambers and Troup County. As we implement these changes, we will be interested to hear your thoughts as readers. We will be teasing the upcoming redesign in the coming week, sharing snippets of the overall design between now and Friday. This will allow for a sneak peak of the new design before rolling out the finished product a week from today.

Chambers County is growing, changing and adapting with the passing of each week. The business community, including the newspaper, must adapt as well to the changing environment. This redesign is merely one more way we are growing, adapting, and helping to keep the communities of Chambers County informed, with the best local news coverage available.
