Keep the job fairs coming

Yesterday there was a job fair at the H. Grady Bradshaw Library.
This past Friday, there was a job fair at the H. Grady Bradshaw Library.
There was a third job fair held at the library just before the new year.
It makes sense having so many similar events. The Valley area, after years trying to get back on its feet following the closure of the last mill, has seen a surge in companies looking to the area as a sight for expansion.
This is good. It shows there are people in the area to fill the jobs that are currently available and those that are on the horizon, and the turnout supports that.
So let’s have even more.
While the number of job fairs is dependent on having places looking to hire people, that doesn’t necessarily mean the places looking to hire are recent additions to the area.
If there are no jobs in a town, then the people will leave. Ergo, the best way to keep people in an area is to give them a reason to stay, like a job.
So let’s start hiring more people. If a business is willing to pay people a decent wage, and can afford to do so, then why not hire more people.
Having a large staff doesn’t mean much if you can’t pay everyone and have nothing for them to do, this is true. Thankfully, we live in an area that is growing and is slowly seeing an increased need in job fulfillment.
And you never know, that new hire might be the best employee you could have asked for. All they needed was a chance.
So let’s continue to have job fairs and put more people to work.
