In Friday’s edition of the Valley Times-News, local readers will get a special treat. In that edition, we’ll publish our special section recognizing the incredible year by the Lanett Panthers football team, which went undefeated and won the class 1A state title in December.

The section includes our game stories from the year, giving a week by week timeline of the incredible journey the team took on its way to the state title.

The section is also filled with photos, capturing big moments from the year.

There’s also a big section dedicated to the history made by Lanett quarterback Kristian Story, who won the Mr. Football award and soaked up numerous other accolades. Story also broke two all-time state records for touchdowns responsible for and total offensive yards gained.

Many advertisers in our community purchased space to congratulate the Panthers on their championship season too.

We hope this section will be a keepsake for Panthers fans for years to come, and we’ll have plenty at the office on Friday morning for anyone who wants a copy.
