MRS. JEAN B. FARR POLAND

OXFORD, Ala. — A celebration of life graveside service for Mrs. Jean B. Farr Poland, 82, of Oxford, Ala. will be held at 2 p.m. EST on Monday, February 19, 2018 at Shawmut Cemetery in Valley, Ala. Mrs. Poland passed away peacefully on Tuesday, February 13, 2018 at Brookwood Baptist Health Hospital in Birmingham.

Mrs. Poland was born February 6, 1936, in Elmore County. She was a 1954 graduate of Valley High School. She worked as a beautician for forty years successfully “beautifying America.” Jean Truly lived life to the fullest through simple pleasures. She was a loving, caring person, devoted wife, mother, and friend – always thinking of others first. She was of Baptist Faith and a member of Golden Springs Baptist Church. Jean married the late Ronald E. Farr, Sr. in 1954 and two children were born from this union.

Jean leaves to cherish her loving memory her children Ronnie Farr (Staci) and Rhonda Jacks (Roger); four grandchildren Candace White (Bryan), Brett Farr (Amy), Bridget Brown (Eric), and Riley Jacks; and six great grandchildren. She is also survived by her husband, Jack Poland.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation.
