The 2019-20 basketball season may not have yielded any state championships, by Chambers County was well represented in the playoffs.
Overall 10 of the 12 teams from Chambers County made the playoffs. Four reached the state semifinals, while three played in a state championship game.
Here is a rundown on how every team finished the year:
Chambers girls
The Rebels reached their first state championship game in program history. They lost to Southern 73-54 in the championship game.
Chambers boys
The Rebels lost to Evangel in the AISA Class A championship game 50-40.
Lanett boys
The Panthers lost 57-55 to Pickens County in the AHSAA 1A State Championship game.
LaFayette boys
The Bulldogs lost 64-62 to Barbour County in the AHSAA 2A state semifinal game.
LaFayette girls
The Bulldogs lost to Collinsville 59-38 in the 2A Northeast Regional.
Valley girls
The Rams lost 60-35 to Sylacauga in the 5A Southeast Regional.
Springwood girls
The Wildcats traveled to Northside in the first round of the AISA Class AAA playoffs. They lost 67-65 in overtime.
Springwood boys
The Wildcats lost to Pike Liberal on the road 80-67 in the first round of the AISA Class AAA playoffs.
Beulah girls
The Bobcats lost to Pike Road 76-18 in the first round of the 3A playoffs.
Lanett girls
The Panthers lost to West Minister-Oak Mountain 34-30 in the first round of the 1A playoffs.
