Let’s get the word out on the good we’ve done

The Valley area is going through a bit of a revitalization, impacting most aspects of life.
From the LaFayette solar farm and the John Soules Food announcement in Valley to the ongoing work at Point University in West Point and the streetscape project in Lanett, broad, positive change is taking place at every turn.
Interestingly though, it’s only the big projects that are getting the attention.
While this makes sense, it is important to note the other, minor changes taking place, such as the repainting of water tower.
This happened recently, when the City of West Point repainted the water tower at the intersection of East 12th St. and Martin Luther King Dr. While this sort of action is routine, it doesn’t diminish the fact it is part of a larger revitalization process.
While big, impressive acts are just that, big and impressive, it’s the small actions that build up to a larger goal.
Valley, Lanett, LaFayette and West Point have made many strides in recent years to improve every aspect that falls under their jurisdiction, from the financial to the aesthetic, and the citizens should be made aware of all that’s been done.
So bring it up at every opportunity.
Mention it to passersby. Comment on it at every meeting. Post comments on social media. Buy ads on television, the radio and in newspapers.
Do whatever you need to let people know that your home is doing great and getting better.
