On Monday afternoon, members of the Chambers Academy girls’ sports teams delivered snacks to the LaFayette Police and Fire Departments.
Each girl brought two items— a drink and a snack. One item needed to be red, for the firefighters, and the other needed to be blue, for the police officers.
Senior Brandalon Rombokas came up with the idea and announced it at the end of last Thursday’s morning workouts.
The gesture was a way for the girls to show support to the local first responders.
“Well done ladies, you make this coach proud,” Chambers Academy girls’ basketball coach Jeff Hines said in a Facebook post.
After workouts, four girls went to the police and fire departments to deliver the items.
