Lanett athletics had just a couple of days of summer workouts before it was forced to pivot.
Someone entered Lanett’s facilities who tested positive for COVID-19, according to Lanett athletic director and football coach Clifford Story.
The person only had interactions with the coaching staff, so Story said the staff will get tested.
Workouts will resume after all the coaches are tested and receive their results.
On Thursday night, the Lanett Panthers Football Twitter page posted a tweet saying summer workouts were suspended until further notice.
“Effective immediately, summer workouts have been suspended until further notice. This includes football and volleyball workouts. Schedule updates will be posted on [Facebook] and here as information becomes available,” the tweet read.
Workouts started on Monday, a week after Gov. Kay Ivey allowed schools to hold on-campus workouts.
