For the second time in as many days, Chambers Academy held a signing. On Wednesday, Jake Waldrop signed to play football at Faulkner University. On Thursday, Olivia Williams signed with the University of West Alabama, joining its Rodeo Team.
The Tigers are led by Daniel Poole. They traveled to Kentucky, Arkansas and Missouri in their five competitions, coming away with a third-place finish at the Three Rivers competition in early October this past season.
In her five years at Chambers Academy, Williams participated in the West Georgia Junior Rodeo, the East Alabama Horsemanship Association and the National Barrel Horse Association circuits.
For the Rebels, Williams earned four varsity letters, playing in softball and volleyball.
Alongside her athletic achievements, Williams maintained a 4.0 GPA in her high school career as she completed a college preparatory diploma track.
Williams was also active in Chambers Academy’s student body. She participated in Chambers BETA Club all four years, was the Chambers Academy yearbook editor for the 2019-20 school year and was the senior class’s Class Secretary. As a sophomore, she was voted the 2017 Homecoming Princess by her classmates.
She will pursue a degree in criminal justice at West Alabama.
Williams is the fourth member of the Chambers Academy class of 2020 to sign to continue their athletic career into college. Both Caydon and Brodie Smoot will hold their signing soon, which will make six of the 24 Chambers Academy graduates to sign.
