Two residents at a house on 19th Avenue in Valley were found dead Monday during a welfare check by the Valley Police Department.
According to a press release from VPD, at approximately 9:08 p.m. officers of the VPD responded to a residence in the 6100 block of 19th Avenue in reference to a welfare check. A neighbor told officers that the residents of that location had not been seen recently and attempts to make contact with them had failed.
VPD also was unable to make contact with the residents. At that point, officers entered the residence and found two residents deceased.
The incident is under investigation by the Valley Police Department, Chambers County Coroner’s Office, District Attorney’s Office of the Fifth Judicial Circuit and East Alabama Fire Department.
