Glad to have made it through March

Hello Huguley. Glad we made it through March and into April of 2018. Did folks play a trick on you April Fool’s Day? I heard about a couple. It being the same day as Easter didn’t affect the true reason that we observe Easter. It was a beautiful day. How did you spent the day?
Happy Valley Baptist finished with the presentation of the Walk with Jesus last weekend. It was a blessing to have been a part of the presentation. I do hope at least some of you were able to make it out to see it. We might never know exactly what effect it had on people’s lives.
Raymond and Sandra Alexander hosted a gathering at the West Point Lake Easter Sunday afternoon. I was unable to get all the names of the folks attending but, I did get some of them. The Smith family from Beulah: about ten members of the Goden family from Phenix City, one of the Alexander families from Fredonia, Raymond and Sandra Alexander from Huguley,
Willard and I were able to enjoy Easter by attending our church Happy Valley Baptist Church on Easter morning. After church we went to Bethel Baptist Church in West Point to join that congregation in lunch. Following that gathering we traveled to Phenix City to enjoy an Easter gathering with some extended family. We went with Lindy and Billy Martin and it was Billy’s aunt and uncles gathering. Man! Talk about a spread! There was food of every type and they probably could have fed another 20 or so folks. As it was there were probably 25 that came and went over the afternoon. Dinner music was provided by Lindy Martin. I’m not partial or anything, but, she did a great job! They kids enjoyed an egg hunt; there were treats for all of them. The spent some time playing in the hot tub (after it had been turned down to barely cool). Adults spent time sitting around the non- burning fire pit or on the screened veranda. It was a really peaceful time. There is no way I could get the names of the folks that came and went; I met them all and remember NO names! After we left we stopped to enjoy a cold glass of tea with Tammy and Robbie. They were relaxing beside—not in—the pool and we just visited for a while. Great day!
Emmanuel Missionary Church hosted a breakfast following their Sonrise service Easter morning. From what I heard, they had everything you could imagine on their buffet! Fruit, bacon, sausage, eggs, breads, jellies were on the buffet. Some 50 folks enjoyed the service and the breakfast.
I need to let you know this column will be shorter in the future. We now have a word limit, so if you want to get it in, you’d better be first to submit. Maybe the number will change in the future. Use my old contact information.
