Thanks for the help with Hike/Bike/Run

Dear Editor:
The Hike/Bike/Run Committee, and Valley Haven School want to thank everyone for their overwhelming support of Hike/Bike/Run. This was another fantastic year. A total of over $112,000.00 was raised to help provide services to the area’s children and adults with special needs. All money raised will go toward the local match for Valley Haven and to help with needed repairs and equipment.
The outstanding participation each year can be credited to the tremendous job done by our local media, The Valley Times-News, The LaFayette Sun, WJCN TV and radio stations WCJM and WELR. Without our local media, we could not get the information to the people.
We wish to thank everyone who had a part in making this such a resounding success. We are grateful to the many businesses and individuals who donated funds, prizes, services and hours and to the area schools and clubs who helped to promote involvement in the event.
We also would like to give special thanks to the Valley Police Department, the LaFayette Police Department, and the Chambers County Sheriff’s Department for their valuable help in assuring the safety of all the participants.
We are also thankful for the hundreds of people who were involved in running, and walking, and to the thousands of people who donated, worked as volunteers or who attended and participated in the different Hike/Bike/Run events.
Sincerely,
Don Cleveland, Chairman
