The LaGrange Daily News, a sister publication to the Valley Times- News, and the LaGrange-Troup County Chamber of Commerce are partnering for a political forum in West Point on Wednesday at 6 p.m. at The Depot.

The forum will include the candidates for mayor and city council.

West Point has Troup County’s only mayoral race during this election cycle with current West Point Council Member Deedee Williams is challenging Incumbent Mayor Steve Tramell for the mayoral seat. Williams is not running for reelection to her council seat to seek the position.

Three at-large council seats will also be up for grabs in West Point, including Williams’ seat. West Point does not have council districts so the top three vote-getters will win the seats. Incumbents Sandra Thornton and Gerald Ledbetter are being challenged by Andra Haynes, Arron Lewis II, Sean Erique Moore and Kevin Patrick.
