The Valley Rams needed a bounce-back win, and the team got it in dominant fashion as Valley topped Troup County 81-55.
The Rams were coming off their first loss in two seasons, and the Rams looked poise for another tough battle early on against the Tigers.
Troup County came out swinging and went on a 12-3 run to start the first period. Valley finally took the momentum back near the end of the first period and held a 24-20 lead going into the second period. The Rams were in complete control of the game from that point forward, building the lead to double digits in the second period and piling it on from there.
Cam Dooley had another big night for Valley as he finished with 25 points to go along with eight rebounds and four assists.
Brandon Thomas followed Dooley with 17 points, 11 rebounds and four assists. Jay Harper and Ian Crim-Davis played lights out from the guard spot, finishing with 12 points apiece.
The win on Saturday improved Valley’s record to 9-1 on the season. The Rams have a short break ahead for the holidays before they face Lithia Springs on Dec. 28.
