According to a report from 247Sports, former Lanett star Kristian Story has decided to enter the transfer portal.
This news comes just two days after Alabama lost to Michigan in the first round of the College Football Playoffs.
Story helped lead Lanett to state championships in 2017 and 2019 before signing with Alabama in 2020 as a four-star prospect.
While classified as a senior, Story enters the transfer portal with two years of college eligibility remaining.
Story served as a special teams player and rotational player at safety for the Crimson Tide this season.
Kristian Story, along with the entire Story family, is a legend at Lanett High School and in the community.
In 2019, Story was named First Team All-State, awarded 1A Back of the Year and named Mr. Football after leading the Panthers to a 14-0 record at quarterback.
Story set the record for AHSAA career yards and total touchdowns, and was the team leader on defense.
Story’s father, Clifford Story, stepped down in May as Lanett’s head football coach after 14 seasons. Clifford Story still currently serves as Lanett’s athletic director. Story’s mother, Krisse Story, is currently the head volleyball coach at Lanett. Caden Story, Kristian’s brother, is a redshirt freshman defensive lineman at Clemson.
Story appeared in 28 games with Alabama before making the decision to find a new home this offseason.
