The Lanett Panthers struggled to put away area foe Reeltown at home, falling to the Rebels 50-42.

After three periods, the Panthers held just a two-point lead. The offense for Lanett lost its footing in the final period as they were outscored by the Rebels 20-10 to close out the game. The Panthers had a chance to pull within three with just 2:00 left on the game clock, but the Panthers could not find the basket and get stops in key spots.

Free-throw shooting was a major problem for the Panthers, as the team connected on just eight of its 26 attempts from the charity stripe.

The loss dropped Lanett to 0-2 in area play. Up next for the Panthers is a matchup with Horseshoe Bend on Jan. 16.
