Rams breeze past Tallassee on senior night

The Valley Rams cruised to a victory on Tuesday night as the Rams defeated Tallasee 80-47 on senior night.
It was all Rams from the opening tipoff as the game quickly turned into a track meet. The Rams dominated in transition and jumped out to a 27-3 lead after the first period.
Several of the starters sat for most of the second period, but Valley still stretched its lead to 31 heading into halftime.
The second half was shortened by a running clock, but that did not stop the Rams from outsourcing the Tigers 31-29 in the second half.
Before the game, the honored its five seniors. Cam Dooley, Brandon Thomas, Jay Harper, Jayden Thomas and Ian Crim-Davis were all vital parts of Valley’s undefeated championship run last season.
Brandon Thomas was given a commemorative ball to honor him joining the 1,000-point club earlier this season. Thomas and Dooley each reached the mark in their career.
Dooley led the way on Tuesday for the Rams finishing with 25 points and 10 rebounds. Jayden Thomas and Jay Harper followed Dooley with nine points apiece. Ian Crim-Davis added in eight points.
It was senior night, but with the game in hand, several key parts of the Rams’ future had big games. C-Jay Heard finished with eight points and four rebounds while Antwan Greenwood added in six points and five rebounds.
The “fab five” as they are affectionately called by the community is looking forward to another deep run, and they are focused on repeating as champions.
The win on Tuesday improved Valley’s record to 13-1 on the season and 4-0 in area play. The Rams have more celebrating ahead as the team faces off on Thursday against Russell County, where the school will unveil the new championship banner.
