The Valley Lady Rams played host to the Lady Bobcats on Thursday, and it was Beulah who came away with an 18-3 win on the road. 

The Rams had the momentum early on as Amari Lowe beat the catcher to home plate after a passed ball to give Valley a 1-0 lead in the bottom of the first inning. 

Beulah quickly rallied back as Clara Burke drove in two runners in the top of the second to give the Bobcats a 2-1 lead. Valley seemingly tied the game in the bottom of the second inning as Carpenter scored after a passed ball. Instead, Carpenter was called for offensive interference and the run was taken off the board. 

From there, the Bobcats took the game over. Abriana Green pushed Beulah’s lead to three as she roped a single through the left side of the infield. Madyson Snedigar scored on an error, and a groundout scored Green. Burke capped the inning off with an RBI single to give Beulah a 7-1 lead in the top of the third inning. 

Valley put together a rally in the bottom of the third inning as Nevaeh Crane scored on an error, but the Bobcats put the game away in the top of the fourth. Snedigar got it started with a sacrifice fly, and Green drove in a run on a single to give Beulah a 10-2 lead. 

Burke added to her tally with a double to score two more Bobcats and Duck scored on a fielder’s choice. A fielder’s choice, a hit batter and a sacrifice fly put the Bobcats up by 14 before Green cranked a double to center field to make it 18-2. The Rams added one final run as a run scored on an error in the bottom of the fourth inning. 

Green and Burke led the way for Beulah as they were a combined 6-for-6 from the plate. The pair also had five RBIs apiece and combined to score three runs. 

Reese Riley got the start on the mound for the Rams and allowed nine hits and 15 earned runs in four innings. Snedigar got the start for Beulah and allowed five hits and two earned runs while striking out five batters. Maci Wingo relieved Snedigar in the fourth inning and allowed one hit in one inning. 

The loss dropped Valley’s record to 2-9 on the season while the win pushed Beulah’s record to 4-4. Up next or Beulah is a road game against Prattville on Friday, and the Rams will face Russell County on April 2.
