West Point kids put on anti-bullying play

WEST POINT — The fourth annual Stop the Bully Kids and Teens Awards Program presented by Storem and Sun Entertainment was held Friday, March 29th in The City of West Point Youth Services Center located off O.G. Skinner Drive.
A Lanett native, Sharon “Ladee Storem” Acres is the founder of Storem and Sun Entertainment. She has been writing Stop Bullying stage plays for children since 2011. “I’ve been doing this for 13 years now,” she said. “With this, I have been trying to put a positive light on what can be done to stop bullying and to uplift children and adults who are the real warriors in doing it.”
She has been presenting Stop the Bullying awards for kids and teens for four years now.
Ms. Acres is looking to expand her platform to involve more kids and schools in the near future.
The West Point Youth Services Center offers programs and activities for youth from five years of age to 18. All volunteers who work with youth must have a satisfactory criminal background. Volunteers must be associated with a specific program. It’s an after-school and summer months program.
