A cornhole tournament took place on Friday alongside the popular Food Truck Festival, hosted by LaFayette Mainstreet.

Alabama Avenue E and 1st Street were blocked off for seating and trucks, while the roadways filled with attendees.

The cornhole tournament was hosted by East Alabama Cornhole, based out of Opelika. Cash prizes were given to the winning team and trophies to the individual winners.

Ryan Meadows and Kealey Clark, Luke Keel, and Callie Knight performed live music for the crowd. In between sets, Probate Judge Paul Story served as DJ. Locals crowded around the bed of a tractor-trailer that doubled as a stage to hear the local singer-songwriters.

As always, the festival had many food trucks lining the town’s square, from Mr. Mori’s Hibachi Food Truck LLC to Grandma Val’s Lemonade and More. The festival has grown this year, with over 20 vendors showing up.

The citizens of the Buffalo community, who have been protesting the Chambers County Commission’s proposed green waste site in the town, also had a tent and signs set up at the festival.
