The Coosa Valley Resource Conservation and Development Council plus Partners will hold an Outreach Information Event from 11:00 am – 2:00 pm Thursday, June 27, 2024. A booth (table) will be set up with information providing programs and services the RC&D and associated agencies offer. The local USDA agencies will be on hand to assist you if needed. The affair will take place at the Chambers County Community Health & Wellness Pavilion, 404 9th. Avenue SW, LaFayette, Alabama 36862
Financial assistance is available for grants and/or loans for home repair and improvement, new home purchase, community development, community gardens, Environmental Quality Incentive Program (EQIP), tunnel house crop production, micro-irrigation, forest and wildlife management, saving pollinators and other conservation practices. Veterans may receive a higher reimbursement rate for installing conservation practices under the EQIP program.
Other services include education for living, health & wellness, conservation gardening, youth loans and more.
There is something for everyone; new producers, adults, elderly, youth and community members. Some free garden seeds, flower seeds, tomato and pepper plants and 2 lbs. bags of fertilizer will be available. Two door prizes will be given away @ 1:30: One 1.5 cu. ft. bag each of Miracle Gro Garden Soil. (NEED NOT TO BE PRESENT TO WIN; BAGS WILL BE LEFT AT THE LOCAL EXTENSION OFFICE FOR PICK UP).
