In a last-minute reversal former Valley star, Ian Crim-Davis will play football at Jacksonville State University in Alabama. The Ram’s WR/CB signed this letter of intent to Morehouse College in February. However, he will suit up for the Gamecocks this Fall.
“I trusted God’s plan, and he got me here, I’m gonna enjoy campus, I love the scenery thing…I’m on a bigger squad and also a D1 team,” Crim-Davis said. “I gotta earn my spot, but I know the type of player I am, I’m gonna get all the way back to the top and just keep trusting God and He’s gonna take me on the whole ride.”
Crim-Davis was a standout for both the Ram’s football and basketball teams. At wide receiver, he totaled 427 yards and three touchdowns in his senior season. On the other side of the ball, he ended with a sack, interception, 23 solo tackles, and two tackles for loss at defensive back. He was also on the basketball team that won the 5A state championship.
A future interview with Crim-Davis will go into the decision behind the move to JSU.
