The City of Lanett has been awarded $2,500 as part of the Alabama Power Foundation’s Gateway Grant program to fund a new welcome sign for the city. Andie Roberts of the Chambers County Development Authority (CCDA) successfully wrote the grant on behalf of the City of Lanett and the Lanett Beautification Committee.
The new sign will be located off Exit 79. Alabama Power’s Gateway Grants are intended to unlock economic and cultural value by helping invite new visitors, new industries, and new neighbors to their respective areas. The grant can be used to fund new signage, upgrade existing signage, develop or upgrade websites, and create marketing material for city promotion.
