Teal Thursday engages businesses around county

Tons of local businesses around the Greater Valley Area so far will be decorating their shops with teal and red bows in preparation for Teal Thursday, a one-day shopping incentive event. The event hosted by the Greater Valley Area Chamber of Commerce is the community’s version of Black Friday, a chance to get some locally sourced holiday shopping done with a few deals.
On December 5, any business with a teal and red bow outside will be marking down items, offering BOGO sales, giveaways or gift certificates.
The event is open to any business in LaFayette, Lanett, Valley or West Point and all shoppers in the Greater Valley Area.
With every purchase at a participating business, shoppers will be added to a drawing in either LaFayette or Valley sponsored by the GVACC. One winner from each drawing will receive a gift card to either Givorn’s in Valley or Renfroe’s Market in LaFayette.
So far, sixteen local retail businesses have registered for the event. The deadline to sign up for the event is November 26. Though participating shops will be decked out with teal bows, the following is a complete list:
