CCSD will close schools on Friday in anticipation of hazardous weather conditions. Classes are expected to resume on Monday.

In a public statement, Superintendent Dr. Sharon Weldon stated, “After consulting with EMA and multiple weather outlets, Chambers County Schools will close on Friday, January 10. While forecasts can never be certain, it is vital that our decision is made to protect the safety and well-being of each student. We will reopen on Monday, January 13 with our regular schedule & dress code. Stay safe & warm.”

Lanett echoed the statement. Superintendent Jennifer Boyd and Safety Coordinator for LCS Clifford Story stated, “Safety is a top priority at Lanett City Schools. In response to the latest winter weather advisory for our area, Lanett City Schools will be CLOSED on Friday, January 10th. Stay safe and warm!”
