Mr. William E. “Bill” Owens III

SOUTHSIDE, Ala. — On Saturday, September 15, 2018, William E. (Bill) Owens, III, passed away at the age of 55.
Bill was born on March, 19, 1963, in Valley, Ala., to William E. Owens, Jr. and Patricia (Landreth) Keller. On March 17, 2004, he married Sonya Tucker. Following the marriage, they resided in Southside, Ala. A 1981 graduate of Lanett High, he was working with AkzoNobel as an account manager at the time of his death.
Bill loved cooking, traveling (especially to Ireland), and spending time with family and friends. He was an avid Biker, Auburn fan, and a collector of antique toys. He was well-known for his constant smile, his quick laugh, and his giving spirit. Bill lived his life to the fullest.
Bill was preceded in death by his grandparents, his sister Kathryn, and step-mother Janice. He is survived by his wife Sonya, daughter Devon, step-daughter Savannah, father Bill, mother Patricia (Mark), sister Debra Duffield (Don), step-sister Dana Beck (Neil), half-brother Joshua, niece Kathryn, Aunt Barbara Posey, Uncles Johnny and Philip Landreth, as well as a multitude cousins, and a host of friends. The family would like to acknowledge the help and support of the Drifters at the time of his death.
A celebration of life will be held at The Drifters HDRC club house, Saturday, September 22, 2018 at 2 p.m. CDT. An additional service will be held at the Lanett First United Methodist Church, Sunday, September 23rd at 2 p.m. Eastern. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Bill’s favorite charity – Never Surrender: A Breast Cancer Support Foundation.
